Summary: The proportion of working conditions in shaping the health of the population is 20-40%. The dependence of the health workers from poor working conditions confirms the registration of occupational diseases. In the Vologda region, starting from 2003 а growing number of reported cases of diseases, about 65% of jobs, do not meet sanitary requirements.

Summary: Health risk assessment of food contaminants was carried out. Arsenic, hexachlorocyclohexane, mercury, nitrates and lead cause the largest non-cancer risk. A level of the total individual carcinogenic risk is alarming, arsenic has maximal percentage. Both effects are caused basically by contamination of fruit and vegetable products, milk and dairy products, fish and fish products.
