MY FAMILY AND I

This is a short story about me and my family. My name is Smirnov Vladimir Petrovich. I am a first year cadet of the Far East Home Ministry Law Institute of Russia. I am twenty-four. I was born on the second of August, 1989. Now I live and work in Khabarovsk. But my home town is Komsomolsk, I was born there. My parents, a brother and a sister are there now. My mother is a lawyer; she works at the notary office. My father is a policeman, he is a district police officer. My brother and sister are students, they study at the institute. My home town is not far from Khabarovsk. So I often come to see them.

I am married. My family is not large, it consists of three persons. They are my wife, son and I. My wife’s name is Olga Aleksandrovna. She is twenty-three. She is an accountant by profession. But now she does not work, she takes care of our son. He is two years old. My wife’s parents live with us, they are pensioners.

I work in the Police. I am a lieutenant. I am a detective of the Criminal Investigation Department or the C. I.D. My profession is law, crime detection and criminal investigation. I work and study at the same time. It is difficult but necessary for me. I like my work and want to be a good specialist.
